Q1: What does the California Pak (CalPak) warranty cover?

California Pak provides a limited one/three year warranty to be free from defects in material and workmanship. This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, damages caused by misuse, negligence, accidents, or any alterations or repairs done by someone other than our Warranty Service Specialist. All incidental and or consequential damages are excluded from this warranty. Continued damage due to lack of effort to repair an item or failure to replace parts resulting in additional damage to the item will also not be covered. There will be certain requirements, such as the original receipt, warranty tag along with a fee to cover the service charge. (CalPak warranty only applies in the Continental U.S.)

Q2: How long is my bag covered by CalPak warranty?

Calpak warranty is covered for 1 to 3 years from the date of purchase. There are restrictions applied as stated on the warranty tag (back of the item tag). Please refer to the information on the tag. The policy could change without notice.

Q3: How do I send my bag for warranty service?

You can use any method you prefer, from USPS to any express delivery company. We do recommend that you insure the package and include tracking service because it provides you with a tracking number, so that you can trace your package. For fastest service, some people choose one of the many overnight services, such as UPS and FedEx.

Q4: How do I clean my CalPak bag?

We recommend hand washing with a mild soap or use a soft fabric with mild soap to clean certain areas and line dry. Using a washing machine or dryer is not recommended.

For polycarbonate/ABS hardside luggage, try to wash the exterior of the case with a solution of soap and water. If the stain is a black mark from the handling of the case, the best method we recommend to clean the case is to use several standard household cleaners (non-Ammonia and non-Petroleum) which help to remove marks, but always test the cleaner in an inconspicuous spot to ensure color safeness.

Q5: Will my CalPak bag be repaired or replaced, by CalPak warranty service?

First our warranty service department will check your bag after received. Then CalPak service dept. will decide if it will be repaired or replaced. You will be notified as soon as service dept. makes the decision.

Q6: What do I do if the airline or other common carrier has damaged my bag?

You should immediately file a claim with your airline or carrier. It is important that you review your luggage as it comes off the baggage carousel to check for any damage to the bag as many carriers have time limitations for reporting damage claims. Our 3 year limited warranty does not cover normal wear and tear or airline/common carrier damage, so it is important that you follow the guidelines posted by your airline or common carrier.
